I am excited to begin my second year at Anne Sullivan as the Gifted & Talented / Catalyst teacher. I am starting my 29th year of teaching and 48th year of "playing school". I simply love it! : - ) My "Hope and Dream" is that I pass that joy of learning, discovering and exploring the world onto your child.
I am one of seven children in my family. I experienced traveling a great deal as a child while my parents had a career in the U.S. Navy. I was born in Lisbon, Portugal and have lived in several different countries and states. Since 1994 my husband Ron and I have called Minneapolis our home.
During the last 30 years I attended Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio where I earned a degrees in Montessori and Education 1-8. From 1980 - 82, I was an International Montessori Director in Cincinnati, Ohio. I joined the U.S. Peace Corps in 1982 and lived on St. Kitts, West Indies until 1985. In the last 28 years I have taught Middle Grades Math, Science, and Language Arts and was the Teacher in Residence at Bakken Science Museum in 2005-06 school year, which ultimately led me to teach Gifted & Talented/ Resource here at Sullivan.
I have an open door policy. Please feel free to stop by anytime to see what we are doing in Room 244.
peace,
Mrs. Moore
