Gingerbread People

Kindergartners read a variety of Gingerbread books while studing their five senses, hearing, seeing, smelling, touching, and tasting.  Some of the books included the Gingerbread Man, Gingerbread Boy, Gingerbread Boy (in the City), Gingerbread Girl,  Gingerbread Baby and the Musbi Man (Hawaiian version).  They compared the stories by discussing who baked the gingerbread people, who chased the gingerbread people, and how the stories ended, e.g., did the fox eat the gingerbread person.  They decorated their own gingerbread cookies as a culminating activity.
