I have worked at Sullivan since 1996. I received my Bachelor of Social Work from St. Olaf College in 1991. I graduated with my Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Minnesota in 1996. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) with the Mn Board of Social Work and have a School Social Worker II level license with the MN Board of Education. Prior to getting my MSW, I worked as a case manager with people with HIV and AIDS at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. I attended Jefferson Elementary and Anwatin Middle Schools in Minneapolis. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to live and work in Vancouver, British Columbia, when I had a one year sabbatical. This was an incredible experience that enriched my practice as a social worker.
I have a special interest in Yoga Calm and enjoy teaching kids how to use yoga to help them regulate emotions and behavior.
I love working at Sullivan and have appreciated getting to know students and families over these years. My basic belief about people is that we all need support from others at some point AND that we all have our own solutions. I work with students, families and staff to help maximize school success. Please feel free to contact me any time.
I work Tuesday - Friday and can be reached at 612-668-4991 or at leslie.colerin@mpls.k12.mn.us.
