Primary Deaf Hard of Hearing Inclusion Classrooms
Mrs. Kristi

I am Kristi Erickson, teacher for deaf and hard of hearing students in regular education classrooms at Anne Sullivan Communication Center.  The students call me Mrs. Kristi.  I have taught at Sullivan since 2002.

I received a B.S. degree in Oral Deaf Education from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point, an M.A. degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Minnesota, and a K-6 Elementary Education license from Augsburg College, Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Prior to Sullivan, I taught infants, toddlers and preschoolers in the Minneapolis Public Schools Early Childhood Special Education Birth to Five Program.

I believe that classrooms are communities where students and teachers learn together.  Although the teacher is the guide,  the students  teach important lessons as well.  All children benefit when special needs students are part of regular education classrooms and the diverse needs of all students are honored.
