Homework Policy

Homework is learning done without teacher supervision during hours outside the classroom. This is an important responsibility for your child. He or she may have homework assignments for the following reasons:

  • Your child will be given a regular weekly homework assignment. His or her teacher will tell you what to expect on a regular basis.
  • Your child may be assigned a special classroom project such as a research paper or report.
  • Your child may have unfinished work left from the day and be required to complete it outside of school.
  • Your child may be assigned work to reinforce skills learned that day.

Encourage your child to read every night!

Homework Hotline (Dial-a-Teacher) is (612) 529-9622. Homework Hotline is sponsored by the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers and the Metropolitan Federation of Teachers. Students in grades K-12 can telephone and receive free homework assistance from certified teachers, from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
